PHP has many environmental variables that you are able to update as needed. For example, you may need to update your php memory_limit to prevent certain scripts from running out of memory. In order to change these values, you must first be able to see what they are. To do that, you will need to create a phpinfo page. A phpinfo page shows you all of your php environment settings.

You can simply install WordPress phpinfo() plugin and watch your settings from the dashboard.

How to use a PHPINFO page:

  1. Go to your site directory through FTP or File manager from your hosting control panel.
  2. Create a file phpinfo.php with contents from this URL – http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=eCP7MjAQ
  3. Open page http://yoursite.com/phpinfo.php in your browser.
  4. Press CTRL + F and type interesting setting name, like memory_limit, for example.

Don't forget to remove this file at the end of the process.
